The AIAL initiative, hosted by the Artemis Association in the suggestive open space overlooking the Castle, offers every year in the summer a short film festival with open air screenings with free admission.

Alongside the Italian short film festival, it presents a panorama of international short films with films awarded by the Alexandria Film Festival (IASFF), the Drama Festival (DISFF) and the Kalamata Documentary Festival.

Upon arriving at the screenings, spectators are greeted by a leaflet illustrating the short films scheduled for the evening, and… by a “σφηνάκι” [sfinaki], a fortifying glass of local grappa (τσικουδιά).
