Leros residents will be protesting in solidarity with those demanding justice for the Tempi train crash. We’ll meet in front of the theatre.
For those of you who are not familiar with this tragic event: On February 28, 2023, a passenger train carrying mostly students collided with a freight train near Tempi, in central Greece.
This devastating accident, and the subsequent fire, resulted in the loss of 57 lives, revealing significant safety deficiencies in the Greek railway system. 2
Many believe the disaster was preventable. The public is demanding accountability from those responsible and significant improvements to railway safety.
