The Municipality of Leros, in cooperation with the Holy Metropolis of Leros, has prepared the following program for the New Year:

Tuesday, December 31, 2024:

• 16:30: Vespers for the Feast of Great Basil at the Holy Church of St. Sophronius (Patriarchate), presided over by His Eminence, the Metropolitan of Leros, Kalymnos, and Astypalaia, Paisios.
• 17:30: Cutting of the New Year’s cake of the Holy Metropolis of Leros at the Patriarchate of Alintou.

Wednesday, January 1, 2025:

• 10:00: Gathering of officials at the City Hall and a joint procession to the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary.
• 10:30: Thanksgiving service at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, presided over by His Eminence, the Metropolitan of Leros, Kalymnos, and Astypalaia, Paisios. Afterwards, a procession to the City Hall and the cutting of the New Year’s cake by the Mayor of Leros, Mr. Timotheos Kottais, in the presence of officials and the public.
• Following this, the representatives of the authorities will visit the Isidorion Ecclesiastical Nursing Home for the cutting of the New Year’s cake.
