The non-political and non-profit Hellenic-Italian Cultural Association “Friends of Leros” AIAL was established in 2009 and has over 200 regular members. with The association is legally registered in the Book of Associations of the competent Court of Kos, the Registry of the Italian Embassy’s Consular Office in Athens, and the Registry of Cultural Organizations of the Ministry of Culture. Its aim is to promote the Italo-Greek cultural exchange and the historical and architectural heritage of Leros. The association’s high-level activities have received recognition and patronage from authorities and organizations in Italy and Greece, including the Italian Embassy in Greece, the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens, the Municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia, the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce, and more. Additionally, the General Staff of the Air Force, the Military Associations “People of the 15”, “Association of War Aviation of Bari”, and “Atlantic Airmen” are among the Italian authorities that have cooperated with the association. The association is committed to promoting cultural exchange and heritage preservation, and it welcomes new members who share this mission.
