Each\, trapped within their own disorder\, trembles internally\, seeking personal redemption. \nThe daughter has devoted herself entirely to her father. She visits him daily\, takes care of him\, and holds full responsibility for his well-being. She has completely set her own life aside. \nThe story unfolds over the course of a single day—the day of the father’s emotional outburst. He no longer recognizes her. Fixated on a stopped clock\, he repeats the same patterns\, stubbornly refusing to face the truth. He denies his children\, denies the work he once served\, and denies his inability to care for himself. \nDespite the daughter’s frantic attempts to break through to him\, he constantly evades reality—or at least that’s how it seems to her confused mind. \nUnable to cope with this new reality\, she becomes lost. Incapable of managing her long-broken relationship with her father—and\, most importantly\, her relationship with herself—she spirals. She becomes confused and accusatory. At one point\, she even questions her father’s dementia\, terrorizing him and screaming: “I don’t believe you! You’re playing a game!” \nAlways trapped in the role of the victim\, clinging to her past—a past deeply entangled with her father—she nostalgically triggers wild memories and drags him into a violent dance of sensations and delusions. \nCommunication is a lost cause. Mutual understanding is nonexistent. The ego of each character is so overpowering that neither can see past their own pain. Dementia and hysteria march forward\, tightly intertwined\, in sick\, staggering steps—some to the left\, some to the right. \nThere is no destination. Both of them drift wherever the wind blows. \nAn afternoon. A delirious day. DESCRIPTION:The AIAL initiative\, hosted by the Artemis Association in the suggestive open space overlooking the Castle\, offers every year in the summer a short film festival with open air screenings with free admission. \nAlongside the Italian short film festival\, it presents a panorama of international short films with films awarded by the Alexandria Film Festival (IASFF)\, the Drama Festival (DISFF) and the Kalamata Documentary Festival. \nUpon arriving at the screenings\, spectators are greeted by a leaflet illustrating the short films scheduled for the evening\, and… by a “σφηνάκι” [sfinaki]\, a fortifying glass of local grappa (τσικουδιά).
